Kareena Kapoor to romance Shahid Kapoor on screen

Kareena Kapoor has at last decided to work with Shahid Kapoor. The one time lovers had last starred together in Jab We Met before their much publicized falling out. Both rejected many times to work together in any movie. Shahid Kapoor’s father Pankaj Kapoor had decided to cast the duo in Mausam. Pankaj had actually written the script of his directorial debut keeping Kareena kapoor in mind. Pankaj Kapoor said that he is working on the script and casting is not started yet so it is hasty to say anything about Kareena kapoor being in the movie.

Big B’s amazing dedication for Paa

The idea to cast Amitabh Bachchan as Abhishek's son in Paa struck filmmaker R. Balakrishnan when he watched the father-son duo together and observed a high level of maturity in the latter's behaviour.

"My main aim was not to make a film on progeria. My main motive behind making Paa was to reverse the roles of Amitabh and Abhishek. I decided to do something like this because once I was with both of them and I saw Abhishek behaving in a very matured manner. It was then that this idea struck me," Balakrishnan, who is known as Balki, told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

The director revealed that he got to know about progeria, the premature ageing disease, much later and used it to make his film look real instead of a fantasy fare.

"I didn't know how to implement my idea. Then a few friends introduced me to this ailment called progeria. I consulted doctors and even researched on the internet to know more about it. This gave me the idea of making my film look believable," he said.

Paa, an emotional story of a father-son relationship, will see Amitabh playing Abhishek's 13-year-old son Auro who is suffering from progeria. The much-awaited film is slated to release on December 4 and has been made under Amitabh's banner AB Corps Ltd.

Balki, who had cast Amitabh in his directorial debut Cheeni Kum, says he was convinced that Amitabh was right for the role in Paa right from the inception of the idea. "I was convinced from the very beginning that Amitabh will be best suited for this role. He has given brilliant performances before, but this is his most mind blowing performance," he said.

"For the role, he had to be completely different from his real self. For an actor to give a performance away from his personality is a very difficult thing," he added.

Bollywood's Shilpa Shetty to wed in style

What do Bollywood actresses do when film offers start dwindling? They tie the knot with a millionaire, of course. On November 22, Shilpa Shetty, 34 is set to marry fiancé Raj Kundra in Khandala reports the IANS. Details of the nuptials that have leaked out promise an event befitting a queen.

Shilpa’s keeping her favourite designers happy by getting each of them to design for an event, of which there are several. The cherry on top goes to leading designer Tarun Tahiliani who is working hard to make a stunning wedding dress. Meanwhile top chef Andy Verma is busy preparing a memorable menu for which he will be especially flown in.

The groom, who has been married before, is planning to arrive at the wedding in a chariot.

While Shilpa deals with the umpteen details of her big day, there is something that is weighing heavily on her mind: her sister Shamita knows nothing about the engagement or impending marriage. Shamita is locked up in the Bigg Boss house, India’s version of Big Brother and thinks the marriage is sometime in December by when the show is expected to end. Channel bosses have approached parent show Big Brother to figure out how to bend the rules and evict Shamita (if the audience doesn’t do so) in time for the wedding. Changing the date is not an option because Shilpa’s mother has consulted an astrological chart and the next auspicious date is months away. Will Shamita make it to her sister’s wedding?
