54th Filmfare Awards- The winners

The whole of Bollywood came and celebrated the spirit of filmmaking at the 54th Idea Filmfare awards held at the Yashraj Studios on Saturday night.

 The award night turned out to be all the more spectacular not just because of the stars, glamour,  great performances, suspense and the excitement.

 But also because of the the young guns of B-Town- Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan who hosted the event in such an entertaining manner making it all the more memorable.

Here is the list of the ultimate winners who took home the coveted Filmfare awards.

  1. Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra took home the best actor and best actress awards for their show of talent in ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ and ‘Fashion’.

   2. Ashutosh Gowarikar was awarded the best director prize for his work in ‘Jodhaa Akbar’.

   3. The best story award was bagged by Abhishek Kapoor for his touching tale of four musician friends in ‘Rock On’.

    4. Best music score went to A.R.Rahman for the film ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’.

    5. A.R.Rahman again got the best background music score award for ‘Jodhaa Akbar’.

    6. Best director of Photography prize went to Jason West for his work in ‘Rock On’.

   7. Sukwinder Singh was adjudged as the best singer for the song “Haule Haule” in the film ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’.

   8. Shreya Ghosal took home the best female singer award for the song “Teri Ore” in the film ‘Singh Is Kinng’.

   9. The best supporting actor award went for Arjun Rampal for his performance in ‘Rock On’.

  10. Kangana Ranaut was given the best female supporting actor award for her role in ‘Fashion’.

  11. Imran Khan and Farhan Akhtar shared the award for the best sensational debut by a male actor award.

  12. Asin grabbed the best sensational debut by an actress for her role in ‘Ghajini’.

  13. Amit Pawar the editor of ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ bagged the best editing award.

  14. Best action director award went to Peter Heines for his stunts in ‘Ghajini’.

  15. Javed Akhtar got the best lyrics award for penning down the song “Jashn-e-Bahara” from ‘Jodhaa Akbar’.

  16. David Bush was given the award for the best visual effects for his work in the fantasy film ‘Drona’.

  17. Longinus was proclaimed as the best choreographer for the moves in the song “Pappu Can’t Dance” in ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’.

  18. The best dialogue writer award went to Manu Rishi for the film ‘Oye Lucky!Lucky Oye’.

  19. Om Puri and Bhanu Athiya were given the Lifetime Achievement Awards.

  20. Special Jury Mention : Prateik Babbar for his performance in ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ and Purab Kohli for his role in ‘Rock On’.

  21. Yogendra Vinayak Joshi and  Upendra Sidhaye were given the best screenplay award for their work in the flick ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’.

  22. Manoshi Nath took home the best costume designer award for her designs in the film ‘Oye Lucky!Lucky Oye'.

The awards given by the critics.

 1.      ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ got the best film award.

 2.       Shahana Goswami got the best actress award for her role in  ‘Rock On’.

 3.      Manjyot Sing got the best actor award for his role in ‘Oye Lucky!Lucky Oye’.
