Exclusive: ‘Abhi - Aish bathing experience’


First time a couple in an advertising: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are treated like a golden couple in Bollywood film fraternity.

Now Aishwarya and Abhishek have been roped in to star together in a Television advertisement.

Probably this is the first time the husband and wife have appeared in an ad together.

The star pair has apparently been paid a hefty Rs. 25 crores by ‘Hindustan Lever’ to star in the ad for the very popular soap brand like ‘LUX’.



The ad will have a sizzling Aishwarya playing a naughty trick and mesmerizing Abhishek who just can’t seem to resist her.

This new ‘Lux’ advertisement has been directed by Stephen Mead from the London - based ad film production house ‘Short Films’.

The Sufi inspired music score has been composed by none other than the melodic trio Shankar – Ehsaan - Loy.

The couple has been styled by leading fashion designer Aki Narula with make-up done by Mickey Contractor.


This is their first ad together though the two have featured as a couple in films like ‘Kuch Naa Kaho’, ‘Dhai Akshar Prem Ke’, ‘Umrao Jaan’ and ‘Guru’.

Their next flick is Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’ which is coming soon.

Their brand value: The ad, which is for Lux's new range of soaps with beauty oils, gives viewers a peek into the very private lives of the stars.

The ad starts with Ash blindfolding Abhi.

He then tries to catch her, but she keeps getting away because her skin is very soft.

He eventually grabs her, only to realize that he's caught hold of the maid.

It's a side of the couple that has never been seen before; it's young, fun and in keeping with their real characters.

Ash, who is the brand ambassador for the brands, likes Lux, L'Oreal and Nakshatra diamond jewellery charges anywhere between 2 – 5 crore for an ad.

Whereas Abhi endorses brands such as Idea, Big Radio and Omega, is known to charge approximately Rs 2 – 4 crore.

Relation with the brand:Talking about her long standing association with Lux, Aish said, "I have been associated with Lux for past 10 years as a Global Brand Ambassador and this association holds a very special place in my heart.

Shooting with Abhishek makes this Ad all the more special as it's our first commercial together and we had a great time shooting for it."

Commenting on the occasion, Abhishek Bachchan said, "We are happy and proud of the fact that we have done our first ever commercial for Lux

When we decided to do something for the first time together, it had to be special and stand for all the things that we believed in.

The script drew me to the commercial and I liked the way Ash and my parts were incorporated - mischievous, soft and fun which brought out the vibes in the relationship that we share."

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sudhanshu Vats, VP, Home Care and Skin Cleansing said –
